I’ve created a consistent morning routine that when i follow it, my days are more productive, my head feels more clear and i’m more focused.
Benefits of establishing a morning routine
- Start the day off right. Your setting the tone of your day on a positive note by creating good habits. Your approach toward the day will be positive and you’ll be more prepared for the days events and challenges.
- More productive – when you start the day off in a positive way, your giving yourself a head start on the day. Your creating momentum that you can take with you throughout your day. When you wake up and are rushed, your playing catch up and you let the day dictate your day.
- Spend valuable time with yourself. A time to dedicate to doing whatever you want without any interruptions or distractions. It may be the only time you get to yourself all day.
I spend quite a bit of time observing the habits of different people. And the one thing almost every successful business person has in common is they wake up early.
90% of executives wake up before 6am on weekdays,
50% of self-made millionaires wake up at least three hours before their workday actually begins.
Warren Buffett wakes up at 6:45am and starts his day by reading the newspaper.
Apple CEO Tim Cook wakes up at 3:45am every morning to go through email and exercise.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is already in the gym by 4am.
Jack Dorsey, co-founder and CEO of Twitter and Square, wakes up at 5am to meditate and exercise.
LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner wakes at 5:30am to checks email, reads the news, exercises, meditate and eat breakfast
Oprah Winfrey usually wakes up on her own between 6 – 6:30 and starts her day by walking her dogs, exercise, meditation, and breakfast.
How to create a morning routine
- Plan what time you want to wake up. Commit to it.
- Wake up a little earlier each day. Start with waking up 15 minutes earlier and every 2 – 3 days, add on an additional 10 minutes until you reach your target wake up time.
- Wake up the same time every day. The more consistent you are the more natural it will become.

1. Feed your soul – mediate, practice gratitude, self reflection, sit in silence, prayer
Meditation helps you connect with your inner self, be completely focused in the moment and not think about what’s coming next. It helps you be mindful and completely present which will help you be a more present, happy and calm mother. A great way to start your day. It reduces stress and anxiety and helps you better manage your emotions. I started my meditation journey about one year ago. I am now more present when i’m around my kids, my energy is more positive, I’m calmer and i’m overall just happier. I’m able to let go of all the mind clutter that so often dominated my thoughts leaving me feeling stressed out and overwhelmed.
Say 10 things you are grateful for starting with 10 and working your way back to 1. Start with broad categories then get more specific. Or keep a gratitude journal and write 3-5 things you are grateful for.
When you intentionally start focusing on the positive things in your life you shift your mindset to start noticing more positives and less negatives. I have always been a pretty positive person. So I never felt that practicing gratitude was something I necessarily needed in my life.
Moms feel guilt. It doesn’t matter if your a stay at home, Pinterest mom who attends every school event and PTA meeting or your working mom who finds out about the parent teacher conference 5 minutes prior. We all have some form of guilt. Sometimes its a occasional pang that we can work through quickly other times it’s constant. Constant guilt nagging us all the time.
When taking time to self-reflect you are looking inwards. This helps us build self-awareness. It allows us to understand our emotions, strengths, weaknesses, drives, values and goals, and how it impacts others.
Think of an inner conflict, something you are dissatisfied with and want to improve on. Hyper analyze the topic, dig deep and be 100% completely honest with yourself. The process can lead to valuable insights and even breakthroughs.
Sit in silence
Sitting in silence allows you to find peace of mind. In a very noisy world, intentional silence allows you to feel peaceful, calm and centered.
Start your day with prayer
This strengthens your belief and spiritual connection and is a positive way to start your day.
5-10 minutes to feed your soul works wonders.
2. Set your intention for the day
Instead of allowing the day to happen to you, you decide how your day will play out. when you set an intention, you manifest what you want to attract and you’re putting it out into the universe.
This habit can take all of 60 seconds.
After a long night of sleep, wake your body and muscles up with a good stretch. Morning stretching helps kick-start your energy levels, circulates blood flow throughout your body including your brain. Adequate blood flow increases concentration and sharpens senses.

4. Feed your mind
Devote time in the morning to reading, listening to a favorite podcast, reviewing empowering quotes. Feeding your mind can help keep you focused on your larger goals. Every monday morning i like to start my week reading motivational and inspirational quotes. This helps set the tone for my week.

Time is based on personal preference and schedule. I spend 15 minutes feeding my mind
5. Oil pull
Oil pulling pulls out toxins from your body, reduces inflammation and boosts your immune system. Some of its benefits are It aides in oral health as well as soothes sore throats, clears out excess mucus and fights colds.
I oil pull every morning for 10 minutes while i’m making my morning coffee and preparing the kids breakfast and lunches for the day.. Take a tablespoon of coconut oil and swish it around your mouth and between your teeth for 5-10 minutes then spit it out into a garbage. It’s super easy to do and one of the best detox methods you can incorporate into your morning routine.
6. Drink lemon water with a splash of ACV
Besides getting an energy boost, increased concentration and higher functioning, this trifeta cocktail is Good for gut health, Lowers blood sugar and helps you lose weight. What better way to start your day.
Morning exercise has proven to reduces stress by lowering blood pressure and it also helps you burn more fat throughout the day.
